The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Wallpaper - Red & Black

Hi all!

It's already been a week since I last posted... each week I try to do more for this blog, but to be honest I'm often too tired in the evening to do anything cohesive *winks*. Today I'll be showing you a mani I wore for quite a few days last week. Any of the stamping images I used is wallpaper worthy I think.

From left to right:
  • Sensationail - Scarlet Red (gel polish)
  • Essence - Stampy polish black
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward (top coat)

And I used a stamping plate sent for review by Born Pretty Store. Below you can see it in comparison with a MoYou London plate.

As you can see, the plate is the same size as the MoYou London plates, but the plastic backing of the Born Pretty Store plates is slightly larger. The images themselves are larger though. The normal sized MoYou London ones (as pictured above in the Sailor 04 plate) are 12mm x 15mm. The images on BP-L001 are 14mm x 18mm except for the right row, those are 14mm x 14mm. The images on BP-L003 are even larger, those are 15,5mm x 22mm.

For today I only used BP-L003, you can get the plate here, it is item 17921.

My base is still the red Sensationails gel polish, stamping with the Born Pretty Store plate was easy. The images are of great quality and I had no issues picking the images up at all. I decided to stamp a different image onto each nail so you can see many of them on the nail. I topped the stamped image with a coat of Elemental Ward.

And yes, I also did my cinderella hand for you, please bear in mind that any smudging is from my awkward stamping skills with my non-dominant hand *winks*. The images are flawless, I am not.

The geometric image on my middle fingernail will be perfect for making stamping decals with.

And another example of some smudging due to user error, but also a good one for stamping decals.

All in all, I think this image plate is great, so many lovely images!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Wallpaper - Red on red

Hi all!

Today I've got a first for this blog... gelpolish. I recently got a Sensationails starter kit for my birthday. I most likely won't wear gel polish all the time, but having something on your nails that lasts more than a few days is a timesaver. I applied this on January 10th and besides some growth they're still going strong. Normally nail polish chips after a day or two on me. I wore it plain for a few days, and then I added some stamping!

The reds and tops:
  • Sensationail - Scarlet Red
  • Essence - Magnetics - 09 Magic Red Carpet
  • Glisten & Glow - HK Girl top coat
  • HEMA - Top coat Matt

And I also used Bundle Monster BM-616 from the 2014 Create Your Own set.

I wanted something subtle, like some wallpapers are. Stamping with the red magnetic polish was a breeze and the plate worked perfectly! After stamping I first added a coat of HK Girl before adding the matte top coat to avoid smearing.

Such a delicate flowery image, I love it!

Would you choose red wallpaper for your walls?

52WPNMC - Holo triangles

Hi all!

I've got another stamping mani for you today. Those Bundle Monster CYO 2014 plates are begging to be used! This week's prompts were Film and Holo. I'm just doing holo today, and sparsely at that. But there is holo bling, trust me!

All the pretties in a row:
  • Cien - 30 Magic Violet
  • China Glaze - 1148 Tart-y For The Party
  • China Glaze - 551 Fairy Dust
  • Foxy Paws - Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
  • Max - DNC 206 Metal
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward (top coat)

And today I used Bundle Monster BM-606, the right image and center bottom image.

My base is either 3 coats of Tart-y or 2 coat of Magic Violet. I first stamped the thin lined image onto my nail using Tart-y on top of Magic Violet and vice versa. Next I stamped the tiny triangles with Gimme! on all nails, and added a coat of Fairy Dust. Since I felt something was missing, I repeated the triangle stamping with Metal. I didn't look at the alignment at all, I will try to next time. On my index fingernail the triangles overlap unintentionally. It was all sealed with a coat of Elemental Ward.

On my thumbnail close up you can see the scattering of triangles rather nicely. And the Fairy Dust obviously.

I'm really liking the dainty images in this Bundle Monster set, they are great for layering!

52WPNMC - Pink & Aqua stamping

Hi all!

Today you get a tiny peek at the Bundle Monster 2014 "Create Your Own" stamping plate set I won in a giveaway held by Elina on Nailscope. It arrived last Friday, and they are lovely! I have photographed all the plates and I do plan on doing a post showing them all up close. I'll just have to find the time to do photo editing first... I've got a busy week ahead of me.

Today's polishes:
  • L.A. Colors - NP136 Black Velvet
  • Essence - 41 Candy Kiss
  • Mundo de Uñas - 24 Aqua
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward (top coat)

And I used Bundle Monster BM-607 as well.

I started out with a black base, then added the Essence pink shimmery top coat. I got this polish from my sis-in-law and had a feeling it would look great over black (it is way too sheer on it's own). I added a coat of Elemental Ward to help it dry faster. Then I stamped with Aqua and two of the image on the Bundle Monster plate. It has very fine lines that transferred beautifully. I ended with a coat of Elemental Ward (no smearing, yay!).

Just look at the cute birds! Such a lovely image!

I love the shimmer and stamping, even if the colour combination may seem odd. Also, expect more stamping in the next few posts as I try out the Bundle Monster plates!

52 Week Pick N Mix Challenge & The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Purple Dots

Hi all!

Happy New Year everyone! May 2015 become a great year for you all! I'm combining two challenges again today, the last December NCC dots mani (yes, it's already January, shhhh) and this week's 52WPNMC with the prompts dots & 3 purples. So obviously I combined 3 purples with some dots.

First of all, I hope the images are coming across alright. I had to put some on my Google Drive to be able to show the correct colours. Some of them would have changed colour after uploading into Blogger or Picasa... strange and highly annoying. The China Glaze would turn blueish for some reason.

The purples!
  • Catrice - 30 Lilactric
  • China Glaze - 1148 Tart-y For The Party
  • Cien - 30 Magic Violet
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward (top coat)

Because I was lazy and skipped base coat, I'm wearing 3 coats of either Lilactric or Tart-y as a base. With my smallest dotting tool I added dots in a curved line. I sealed it all in with Elemental Ward. I love how the dots turned out on my middle fingernail most.

Lilactric has a lovely shimmer as you can see in my thumb nail close up.

Purples always make me happy!

Love, Brethil
