The Digital Dozen does Marble - Veil

Hi all!

The last marble technique I've got for you this week is a variation on a water marble, the veil technique. Perhaps not as marbly as a water marble, but it's done with water as well! I believe this video is the first one showing it, but here's another one from someone else.

Polishes:
  • Polish My Life - Peaceful Serene
  • Kaleidoscope - Aquarelle Tints - 09
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of Peaceful Serene. I added some drops of the purple Aquarelle Tint to a container with water, tried to get some patterns, which failed mostly because I tried to lift them out instead of dipping my nails in. Topped with Elemental Ward.

I do like this technique, but I have to try it some more to get the hang of it. Clearly I caught too many air bubbles in there...

Have you tried to do this marble veil technique yet?

Love, Brethil

The Digital Dozen does Marble - Smoosh

Hi all!

Today I've got a smoosh marble for you. An easy technique, but always a lovely result.

Polishes:
  • Polish My Life - Minted Diamonds
  • Polish My Life - Cloud Blue
  • Polish My Life - Peaceful Serene
  • Kaleidoscope - Stamping 22 Silver
  • China Glaze - 551 Fairy Dust
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used Creative Shop stamping plate 29.

Base: 1 coat of Minted Diamonds. I dabbed the polishes onto a stamper and smooshed them onto my nails. I stamped the crystal image using the silver stamping polish. I added some Fairy Dust before sealing it in with Elemental Ward.

The pastels blended a bit too well together, but I think it still looks nice, the marble is just not as obvious.

The Digital Dozen does Marble - Dry Marble

Hi all!

My third mani is a dry marble, perhaps my least favourite of the week, but you can't win them all.

Polishes:
  • Essence - 11 instant match
  • MoYou - Turquoise Mint
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 1 coat of instant match. I prepared a few dry marbles on a piece of plastic beforehand, but some didn't make it in one piece off the plastic, so I had to improvise. My middle and ringfinger nails are more of a drag marble that I did on top of the nail, hence why they look horrible. Topped with Elemental Ward.

The dry marble that turned out best is this circular drag design.

I even fail at dry marbles, let alone a water marble...

The Digital Dozen does Marble - Stamped

Hi all!

Today's marble mani is stamped. I didn't really own a real marble stamping image, but some bare branches did the trick.

Polishes:
  • Aliquid Lacquer - Gargoyle
  • Kaleidoscope - Stamping 22 Silver
  • Mundo de Uñas - 33
  • Mundo de Uñas - 34
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used Creative Shop stamping plate 31 (center image top row).

Base: 2 coats of Gargoyle. I stamped with Silver first and then with a gradient of both greys. Sealed it in with Elemental Ward.

The Digital Dozen does Marble - Purple drip marble

Hi all!

A new year! We're starting 2019 with doing all sorts of marble nails! I'm starting off with a drip marble.

Polishes:
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Stone of Power
  • Mollon Pro - 29 Aronia
  • Catrice - LE Eve In Bloom - C02 Floralilac
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of Stone of Power. The marble nails are done by doing a drip marble on a yoghurt lid with all the purple polishes (for a tutorial, watch this video by My Simple Little Pleasures). I added some dark purple chevrons using some nail vinyls. Topped with Elemental Ward.

Drip marbles are one of my favourite type of marbles, they are just so random and gorgeous.

Have you tried a drip marble yet?
