The Digital Dozen does Books - Moby Dick

Hi all!

Today not a mani inspired by a book cover, but just a book. I got this stamping plate recently though and thinking of book inspiration, I had to do Moby Dick when I saw these cute little whales.

Polishes:

• Essence - 115 rockablue
• Polish My Life - Muscat Martini
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 01 Black
• Catrice - 59 Keep Me - I'm Cute
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used MoYou London's Animal Collection 05 which has this lovely image of whales and narwhals.

Base: 2 coats of rockablue. On my sparkly nails I added some Keep Me - I'm Cute. I stamped the image with black and then used Muscat Martini to fill in the whales and more Keep Me - I'm Cute to fill in the narwhals. I then transferred it on to almost dry top coat and sealed everything in with Elemental Ward.

Aren't the whales cute?

The Digital Dozen does Books - Swan Song

Hi all!

For today I have something simple. The book cover that inspired me is this one here. I saw this book cover and knew I had a stamping plate image just like it, so of course, I had to use it. Haven't read the book though.

Polishes:

• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
• MoYou London - White Knight
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used a plastic stamping plate from Born Pretty Store: BE-BC-04. Since the scan does not show the images, you'll have to put up with the image below.

Base: 1 coat of Dark Matter. I used White Knight to stamp the dotted scale image. Topped with Elemental Ward.

Sometimes, just black and white nails are everything.

The Digital Dozen does Textured - Shells

Hi all!

Last mani for this week, and again, I used textured polishes. I'm keeping this short, because I am a tad late posting....

Polishes:

• KIKO - 636 Mint
• KIKO - 637 Turquoise
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 86 Nephritis

I also used Creative Shop 28.

Base: One coat of Mint. I added a gradient of both textured polishes with a sponge. I stamped a shell image using Nephritis.

The Digital Dozen does Textured - Leopard

Hi all!

I'm back with a textured polish today. It used to be thermal as well, but I've had this since 2015 I believe and thermal pigment doesn't last that long. But it's still textured of course!

Polishes:

• Superficially Coourful Lacquer - Steamy Affair
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 30 Sea Depths
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 01 Black

I also used MoYou London's Tropical Collection 36.

Base: 2 coats of Steamy Affair. I stamped the leopard print using Sea Depths first. It's barely visible though, Sea Depths is greenish and slightly darker on this base. I added some more stamping with black.

I better start on my last mani! Eeep, I'm so behind!

The Digital Dozen does Textured - Fern

Hi all!

Today's mani appears to have texture (I think), but doesn't. I absolutely love how this one looks.

Polishes:

• Polish My Life - Perfect Nightcap
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 23 Aurora Borealis
• MoYou London - Winter Sky
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used 2 Hēhē stamping polishes: 104 and 052.

Base: 1 coat of Perfect Nightcap.  I stamped the broken lines using Aurora Borealis, which is a duochrome stamping polish. I added the fern leaves using Winter Sky and then topped it all with Elemental Ward.

Isn't Aurora Borealis amazing with that colour shift. I feel it really brings dimension to the nail.

Hi all!

Another textured polish today, one from Sally Hansen I got in a Big Bazar store I think (they sell discounted older collection nail polishes amongst lots of cheap things). I've had it for a while now though.

Polishes:

• Sally Hansen - Sugar Coat - 800 Lick-O-Rich
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 92 Dark blue neon
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 14 Fuchsia
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 22 Silver
• Born Pretty Store - 379

I also used MoYou London's Tropical Collection 36.

Base: 2 coats of Lick-O-Rich. I used the bottle brushes to add distressed swipes before stamping silver leaves on top.

I actually really like this combo of distressed with leaves... obviously leaves...

The Digital Dozen does Textured - Strict

Hi all!

This week might be filled with textured polishes... today I've got an oldie for you that I got in Berlin way back in July 2013 around the start of this blog.

Polishes:

• P2 - Sand Style - 060 Strict
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 89 Cognac
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 01 Black

I also used stamping plate Creative Shop 31.

Base: 2 coats of Strict. I stamped with Cognac first and Black second.

Apologies for the blurry thumb picture, it appears I didn't actually take any that were in focus...

I always love Strict, it's such a lovely colour, neutral yet a bit funky from being textured.

The Digital Dozen does Marble - Smoosh

Hi all!

Today I've got a smoosh marble for you. An easy technique, but always a lovely result.

Polishes:

• Polish My Life - Minted Diamonds
• Polish My Life - Cloud Blue
• Polish My Life - Peaceful Serene
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 22 Silver
• China Glaze - 551 Fairy Dust
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used Creative Shop stamping plate 29.

Base: 1 coat of Minted Diamonds. I dabbed the polishes onto a stamper and smooshed them onto my nails. I stamped the crystal image using the silver stamping polish. I added some Fairy Dust before sealing it in with Elemental Ward.

The pastels blended a bit too well together, but I think it still looks nice, the marble is just not as obvious.

Today's marble mani is stamped. I didn't really own a real marble stamping image, but some bare branches did the trick.

Polishes:

• Aliquid Lacquer - Gargoyle
• Kaleidoscope - Stamping 22 Silver
• Mundo de Uñas - 33 
• Mundo de Uñas - 34
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used Creative Shop stamping plate 31 (center image top row).

Base: 2 coats of Gargoyle. I stamped with Silver first and then with a gradient of both greys. Sealed it in with Elemental Ward.
