Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Autumn - Camo

Hi all!

Where did September go? Feels like it went by very quickly. But there's still another Autumn NCC mani for you this month! I'm here today with a camo look combined with leaves.

Polishes:
  • Catrice - 680 Khaki Perry
  • MoYou London - First Kiss
  • MoYou London - Ladygold Pink
  • Kaleidoscope - Stamping 01 Black
  • ILNP - Nostalgia
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Stamping plates used are MoYou London's Trend Hunter 22 and Hēhē 052.

Base: 2 coats of Khaki Perry. I stamped some camo blotches with First Kiss first, and Ladygold Pink second. To make sure the leaves stood out, I stamped them in black and then with Nostalgia on top. Top coated with Elemental Ward.

Duo/Multi chromes are always so interesting to look at, don't you agree?

Love, Brethil

Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Autumn - Plaid

Hi all!

Apparently, autumn is here. Weather has been more summery over here though. But autumny nails are here anyway! I'm starting off with plaid.

Polishes:
  • Polish My Life - Plumberry-tini
  • Kaleidoscope - Stamping 07 Lilac
  • Kaleidoscope - Stamping 309 Restless night
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used stamping plate BPL-041.

Base: 2 coats of Plumberry-tini. I stamped on the plaid images and sealed it with Elemental Ward,

Can't go wrong with plaid in autumn, right?

Born Pretty Store review - Flower magnet

*Press sample*

Hi all!

Today I've got a nail art magnet tool for you from Born Pretty Store. We all know the ordinary magnets, but this one is a bit different and fun.

Polishes:
  • Kaleidoscope - Interstellar Cats 3D effect 52
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward
I also used the flower magnet from Born Pretty Store.

Base: 1 coat of magnetic polish. Right after I added the second coat I went in with the flower magnet. I sealed it all with Elemental Ward.

I think the effect is fun, and the tool is pretty cheap as well.

Born Pretty Store kindly gave me a discount code to share with you all! If you use code BBL91 you get 10% off your purchase! You can find their nail art products here! And they offer worldwide free shipping!

The Digit-al Dozen does Recreating your first blog posts - Leopard

Hi all!

The very last post is definitely my favourite of this week. 5 years ago I was inspired by a shirt I own. I just love the gradient I did back then. I still own those polishes, so I did the same gradient, but with tiny leopard spots this time around.

Polishes:
  • Catrice - 810 ACid DC
  • Catrice - 740 King of Greens
  • KIKO - 300 (pearly malachite green)
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 1 coat of King of Greens. Using a beauty sponge I added the gradient in a few layers on top. The leopard spots were added with a nail art brush and Dark Matter. Finished with Elemental Ward.

I adore this gradient and I do prefer the tiny spots over big ones.

Love, Brethil

The Digit-al Dozen does Recreating your first blog posts - Dotticure

Hi all!

Of course one of my earlier nail art was a dotticure. It's a simple technique and usually looks lovely. Well, except for when I first blogged about it in 2013.... I'm sure you can all agree today's neon dotticure looks better.

Polishes:
  • Essence - 98 pure beauty
  • Kaleidoscope - stamping 12 Orange neon
  • Born Pretty Store - 379
  • Born Pretty Store - 1787
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of pure beauty. I used a dotting tool to add the neon dots. Ended with a coat of Elemental Ward.

I do think a dotticure is something timeless, don't you agree?

The Digit-al Dozen does Recreating your first blog posts - Splatter nails

Hi all!

Today I bring you splatter nails. Quite a mess to create, but fun looking anyway. 5 years ago I did a very colourful version, today I've gone for greens.

Polishes:
  • Rimmel - 464 Urban Chameleon
  • Essence - 83 pretty cool life
  • Essence - 161 ciao oliviero
  • Essence - 139 walk on the wild side
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of Urban Chameleon. Using a straw I added splatters by dipping one end in the polish and blowing air through the straw. Topped with Elemental Ward.

I rather like the randomness of splatter nails, plus these days with liquid latex-type products, the clean up is not that bad.

When have you last done splatter nails?

Love, Brethil

The Digit-al Dozen does Recreating your first blog posts - Sugar spun

Hi all!

Well, I haven't done this technique in years... though I recreated it with a slightly different colour combination than I did 5 years ago. It didn't come out completely as I thought it would, but I tried.

Polishes:
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Whoever Said I Was Merciful?
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 1 coat of Dark Matter.  On my accent nails I added one coat of Whoever. I first tried sugar spinning with Whoever on top of the black, but it turned very thick and gloopy. It was nearly impossible to get thin strings really. I think the black sugar spun on top of Whoever looks a lot better though. Topped with Elemental Ward.

Have you tried this technique recently?

Love, Brethil

The Digit-al Dozen does Recreating your first blog posts - Needle drag

Hi all!

This week is all about recreating our first blog posts. I started blogging on July 3rd 2013. My very first blog post was a needle drag inspired by a t-shirt. Now I won't be exactly recreating, this week I'll let myself be inspired by the nail art I did in the beginning.

Polishes:
  • Rimmel - 807 My Grey
  • W7 - 92 Silver Mirror
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of My Grey/1 coat of My Grey and 1 coat of Silver Mirror. When the last coat was still wet, I added a drop of the other polish and used a needle to drag jelly fish-like shapes. Sealed it all with Elemental Ward.

Which version of jelly fish do you like better, the 2018 or the 2013 version?

Love, Brethil
