The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Holiday Season - Christmas Greetings

*Press Sample*

Hi all!

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas if you celebrate it. This mani is what's on my nails at the moment.

Polishes:
  • L.A. Girl - 3D Effects - GNL303 Teal Dimension
  • SinfulColors - 101 Snow Me White
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer -  I Live, I Die, I Live Again
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Pretty Like Poison
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Stone of Space
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Stardust
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used stamping plate BP-L056 (item 37097) from Born Pretty Store. It's a real Christmas themed plate, although some images can be used during winter or at other times as well.

Base: 2 coats of Teal Dimension. I stamped with Snow Me White and I used two different images from the BP-L056 plate. Then I used the other polishes to add some colour and I sealed everything in with Elemental Ward.

Born Pretty Store kindly gave me a discount code to share with you all! If you use code BBL91 you get 10% off your purchase! You can find their nail art products here! And they offer worldwide free shipping!

Pinces de Crabe

Hi all!

Today I've got another one of Very Emily's collaboration polishes with Femme Fatale to show you: Pinces de Crabe. The name meaning crab claws you know I had to add some crab claw nail art! I used this image here for inspiration.

Polishes:
  • Femme Fatale - Nord-Pas-de-Calais Trio - Pinces de Crabe
  • Cirque - Cypress
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of Pinces de Crabe. I absolutely adore this polish, it's got those mini flakes I love and these colours are just so autumnal and lovely. I used a thin nail art brush to add the outline of the claws with Dark Matter, filled them in with Cypress and redid the black lines and shading. Finished with Elemental Ward of course.

Of course the claw on my thumb didn't work out as well as the one on my ring finger...

What do you think of this polish?

Love, Brethil

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Winter Warmth

Hi all!

Today's theme is "winter warmth". When I think of winter warmth I see warm fuzzy sweaters. I haven't done sweater nails before, so perhaps it was finally time.

Polishes:
  • Aliquid Lacquer - Gargoyle
  • Mundo de Uñas - 33 Light Grey
  • Mundo de Uñas - 34 Dark Grey
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used stamping plate BPL-032 from Born Pretty Store (which is on sale right now).

Base: 2 coats of Gargoyle. I added both grey stamping polishes onto my stamping plate and scraped until they blended into a gradient. Stamped it onto my nails and sealed it in with Elemental Ward.

I've been enjoying this mani for just over 5 days now, which shows you I really like it. What do you think?

Love, Brethil

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Dots - Dotty triangle

Hi all!

It's nearly been another week already. Nailwise, not much has happened, I'm even wearing a single polish and no nail art right now. All my energy is gone with this awful cold I caught. Lucky for you I wore the mani I'm showing you today a week ago! It features one of Very Emily's collaboration polishes with Femme Fatale (which I was lucky enough to win!).

Polishes:
  • Femme Fatale - Nord-Pas-de-Calais Trio - La Sirène
  • Cirque - Cypress
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: Either 3 coats of Cypress or 2 coats of La Sirène. I added tiny dots with a dotting tool in a triangle shape on each nail with the other polish. I chose this combination because I feel like the shimmer in La Sirène appears coppery in certain angles. I ended with Elemental Ward.

I think Emily did a great job with this collaboration, it's a gorgeous polish (the other 2 are as well).

Love, Brethil

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Black base

Hi all!

Today I've got a vampy look for you, one day late obviously... oops. In my defense, I left my home just before 7 am in the morning and didn't get home until after midnight. I had a fun work outing (escape room and dinner). But you came here for the nails, so let's get to it then, shall we?

Polishes:
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
  • Cirque - Queen Majesty
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 1 coat of Dark Matter. I added a layer of top coat and let it dry. Then I added some Whats Up Nails nail vinyls (Moroccan Stencils). I sponged on Queen Majesty next, removed the vinyl and sealed it in with two coats of Elemental Ward.

Look at that sparkle and shine!

Would you wear dark and vampy nail art like this? Let me know!

Love, Brethil

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Dots - Minty gradient dots

Hi all!

This month's theme is Dots! My first mani for this month is actually something I wore nearly two months ago. Hence the shorter nails *winks*.

Polishes:
  • Foxy Paws - Just Leave Everything To Me
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
  • Mundo de Unas - 24 aqua
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of Just Leave Everything to Me. On my accent nails I used Stick It! nail vinyls (pattern Bubble Stencils) and sponged a gradient on top with Snow Me White and Aqua. After removing the nail vinyl I added everything with my favourite top coat Elemental Ward.

Of course I didn't pay attention when placing the vinyls, that's why the big dots are on the tips versus near my cuticle. Which side do you prefer?

Ahhh, just look at that holo! Seriously loving this soft mint holo from Foxy Paws. You can still get it here before it's gone!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Halloween in the wrong colours

Hi all!

I bring you a Halloween mani. I don't celebrate Halloween, because it's not a real thing over here at all. But it was fun for a bit to think about wrong colours for Halloween. I didn't want to go the pastel route, so I went neon.

Polishes:
  • Wycon - Sugar Effect - No 835 Giallo Fluo
  • Wycon - no 277 Grigio Pietra
  • El Corazón - Matte Effect - 144 Neon
  • El Corazón - Matte Effect - 145 Neon

Base: 2 coats of Giallo Fluo, a neon yellow textured polish. I added ghosts with neon pink and bats with neon green. I had to outline the bats with Grigio Pietra to get a bit more contrast. No topcoat this time.

Doesn't this ghost look surprised? Must be the odd colours...

It was fun wearing neons in October, would you?

Love, Brethil

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Pink Autumn - Leaves

Hi all!

For this month's NCC Pink Autumn theme I've got something I wore earlier this week. I really liked it, even if it was pink *winks*.

Polishes:
  • Barry M - Gelly - GNP20 Rose Hip
  • NYC - Foil Explosion - 011 Power of Elements
  • Mundo de Unas - 18 Silver
  • China Glaze - 551 Fairy Dust
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

And I also used Hēhē stamping plate 052.

Base: 2 coats of Rose Hip. Then I stamped with Power of Elements first, and later with the silver stamping polish. A coat of Elemental Ward first to prevent smearing, then Fairy Dust and then more Elemental Ward.

Leaves always make me smile, and this stamping plate is just so lovely. Just look at that fern leaf...

I'm thinking I have to do this mani in green sometime too, perhaps in spring...

Love, Brethil

More pink or autumnal mani's in the Inlinkz!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Blue and silver

Hi all!

Today is the first day of our new nail art challenge: 26 Great Nail Art Ideas. We will post once every fortnight and we're starting off with the prompt Blue and Silver. Seeing as I just bought a icy blue magnetic polish during my stay in Rome, I had to use that one. Icy blue made me think of mountains and that's how this mani was born.

Polishes:
  • Wycon - Magnetic - #507
  • Mundo de Unas - 18 Silver
  • Essence - LE Superheroes - 04 Super, Man!
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used Hēhē stamping plate 091 from The Science Collection.

Base: 2 coats of the blue metallic polish. After applying the second coat I held one of the magnets I have (an Essence one with a chevron pattern) close to my nail. Then I repeated it with the other nails. I stamped the mountain image using the silver stamping polish and then filled out some areas with the silver glitter. Ended with top coat, Elemental Ward, of course.

The Wycon magnet I bought was rather rubbish (it wasn't that expensive though), but the Essence ones I've got are decent enough.

It's been ages (years really) since I've used a magnetic polish. Do you like the effect?

Love, Brethil
