40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Films

Hi all!

This week our prompt is films. My inspiration comes this film poster for Finding Dory. I just loved the colour of the water, such a gorgeous gradient. Hence that's exactly what I did, a gradient. And I added some "fish scales" to represent Dory. She's a classy lady, hence classy scales.

Polishes:

• Barry M - Gelly - GNP 21 Sugar Apple
• Barry M - Gelly - GNP 15 Guava
• Sally Hansen - 4860-33 Pacific Blue
• Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

And I used Born Pretty Store stamping plate BP-L003.

Base: 1 coat of Sugar Apple. This didn't cover my nails, but that's okay if you're sponging on a gradient on top anyway. After my gradient was done I added top coat to smooth it out. I wore it just like that for a day and then stamped the "scale" image with Snow Me White. Ended with more top coat.

Adored this mani, I blame the awesome colours.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Purple Skittlette

Hi all!

Third purple mani for NCC! (and four if you count my previous post as well). Are you sick of it yet? I sure hope not! I love purples and for today I have a simple skittlette that I really loved wearing.

Polishes:

• Catrice - 14 Purple Reign
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Ride Eternal, Shiny and Chrome
• Mundo de Uñas - 18 silver
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

And I used Vivid Lacquer's VL014 stamping plate again.

Base: 2 coats of Purple Reign (or Ride Eternal). This polish looks more purple in real life though. I stamped with the silver stamping polish and added tiny dots of Ride Eternal on the dotted ends of the branches. My other purple nails got a nice dot of Ride Eternal. Added top coat, two coats to make sure everything was smooth.

The base coat has tiny blue flecks, of course they're more visible in the bottle...

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - 3 shades of purple & negative space

Hi all!

For some reason I thought I wrote this post and scheduled it.... guess again. So I'll keep it short because I'm already late. This week's prompt is 3 shades of purple. My personal pattern is negative space. Not my favourite one, due to my stained nails (still recovering from a bad yellow stain a few months ago). But it's not that obvious, I hope.

Polishes:

• NYC - 257 Lavender Cupcake
• Essence - 133 Oh my glitter!
• Catrice - 32 The Dark Knight
• Essence - the gel base coat
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Just base coat to start with. I used several striping brushes to add a plaid pattern. Sealed it all in with Elemental Ward.

My third purple was different at first, but I didn't like it, so I hid it with something darker. Just pretend you can't see it... *winks*

Born Pretty Store review - Stamping plate BPL-032

Hi all!

Today I want to show you a mani I wore a few weeks ago. This stamping plate arrived on my door step just after Christmas unfortunately.... most images are rather festive though. Snowflakes on the other hand... it's still winter, even though the weather isn't that wintery outside here. Besides, I love snowflakes, it's the most important reason I wanted this stamping plate. Can't have enough of them.

Polishes:

• El Corazón - Fenechka 423/126
• Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

And obviously the Born Pretty Store stamping plate BPL-032, or item 23268 (currently out of stock at the moment of writing this). I love how large the snowflake section is, but the christmas sweater images are fun as well.

Base: 3 coats of the speckled mint green polish. I used Snow Me White to stamp with. Ended with top coat.

I now have quite a few stamping plates by Born Pretty Store (the rectangular ones), they are all etched nicely.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Purple zigzags

Hi all!

First off, my purple has a different shade in real life, it does not want to be photograped true to colour for me at all. But it's purple and that is all that matters for this month! And grey! I used this fun looking silver zigzag tape (item 23383) by Born Pretty Store as well, which was kindly sent to me for review. It's quite a big roll of tape, plenty for tons of mani's to come.

Polishes:

• El Corazón - Matte Effect 124
• Catrice - 65 Be My Violetine
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of the grey polish. Oh 124, why don't you have a lovely name to match your lovely complexion? Top coat, dry time, then added the zigzaggy tape. Covered in Violetine. More dry time, more top coat.

 My thumb nail and middlefinger one are my favourites.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Things that fly

Hi all!

Obviously I could have done something with birds, or planes... but what I think of when you say "things that fly" are insects. One of the loveliest insects are dragonflies and I happen to have a dragonfly stamping image. Also I am in love with my latest sparkly holo glitter polish from L13L.

Polishes:

• Born Pretty Store - #18 (item 22338)
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Ride Eternal, Shiny and Chrome
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Unleash the Beast
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

And for my flying things I used the dragon fly image on Vivid Lacquer's VL014 plate.

Base: 2 coats of Ride Eternal, Shiny and Chrome. Just 2 coats and it's opaque, and it sparkles. Lots. It also needs top coat to smooth those glitters out, but I don't mind, all heavy glitter polishes do really. I stamped with a Born Pretty Store stamping polish and the dragonfly image. Then I added some blue/green flakies to the wings of the dragonflies. More top coat to finish it off.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: Purple chevron

Hi all!

This month our theme is purple. We always vote on the theme, and obviously my vote went to purple... it is my favourite colour after all. I'm starting off with lots of bling and some vampyness added.

Polishes:

• Catrice - LE Thrilling Me Softly - C03 Occult
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Ride Eternal, Shiny and Chrome
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 2 coats of Ride Eternal, Shiny and Chrome. Top coat to smooth it out before I applied some nail vinyls (from You Polish). I kept it simple with black and Occult. More top coat to seal it all in.

Ride Eternal is seriously sparkly because it's nothing but holo glitter. Photo down below is in direct light.

Hi all!

A belated happy new year! I'm starting this year off nicely by postponing editing photos... and with the first 40 Great Nail Art Ideas post of the year. This week's general prompt is "pale blue base" and my pattern prompt is needle drag. Not my favourite pattern...

Polishes:

• Catrice - LE Candy Shock - C02 Play It Blue
• Gothic Gala Lacquers - Greyscale
• China Glaze - 551 Fairy Dust
• Essence - LE Superheroes - 04 Super, Man!
• Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: 3 coats of Play It Blue, plus drops of Greyscale and Super, Man! that I dragged with a thin nail art brush (shhhh). Greyscale is not that visible anymore though, oops. Topcoated it, disliked it and then did what you do to rescue a mani, fairy dust it. With the fairy dust magic it doesn't look that bad anymore!
