Hi all!
Today's GOT prompt is Stripes... I honestly did not realise when I did my TPT mani... sorry. You'll just have to look at more stripes today. I did try and make it very different though! I am going to try and catch up a bit more and have a mani done a day or two in advance at least. I'm still catching up on my blog reading (still reading Aug 4th posts) as well. Tonight we'll be spending some time with friends playing a boardgame (most likely Ticket to Ride Europe, if you don't know it, watch this episode of TableTop).
Back to polish!

- Catrice - LE Hip Trip - C01 Blue Highway
Because I wanted something different from a white base, I went with a grey base. Grey is so undervalued I think, two coats was all I needed. Next I used 3 different striping brushes to add blue stripes. All nails got one big light blue stripe and a mix of other blue stripes. I also mixed Play It Blue with Hip Queens to get a fourth blue shade. I didn't go for one single pattern, just random stripes on each nail. I top coated with G&G HK Girl top coat (I grabbed a new bottle to avoid any bleeding).
Up close you can see the imperfections that go with using a striping brush in not so well trained hands, but I like it. Benefit to striping free hand instead of using striping tape is how thin your lines can be without too much fuss.
And a bonus Cinderella hand photo, because I did do this on both hands! Obviously I'm not that steady with my non-dominant hand, but it doesn't look too bad!
How are your freehanded striping skills? Also, do you play board games? Tell me your favourites!

This is lovely think I will invest in some new brushes I can't get mine right. This is just all types of lovely they grey and blue combo perfect
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it Roz! The fat stripes is a fatter striping brush that I left untouched, I did cut a striping brush (with a nail clipper) to fewer hairs to get the finer lines though. The striping brushes were in ordinary cheap nail art brush sets you find on eBay.
DeleteI absolutely love this!!! The colours are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
