It will be World Diabetes Day on November 14th. Norway Nails is holding a Nail Art Diabetes Awareness Contest to spread awareness. I had to join, my mother has diabetes as does a friend of mine. I kept it simple, using the logo of the International Diabetes Foundation and stamping.
Polishes I used:
- Catrice - 400 Blue Cara Ciao
- L.A. Colors - NP402 Energy Source
- Essence - Stampy polish white
I also used a MoYou London stamping plate. I ordered these a while back, I finally got them past week. This plate was in stock, but since I also pre-ordered 2 plates from their new Mother Nature collection, I had to wait until those came in before my order was shipped. It was well worth the wait.
This is Sailor Collection 04 which has a variety of nautical images. The plate is on a sturdy plastic backing and comes with blue protection foil and inside a gorgeous sleeve (which I forgot to photograph). As you can see the images are etched deep and stamp great! These images are 15mm by 12mm, they fit my nails, except my thumb. These images also come in XL size for bigger nails, but then you get less images per plate. I used a simple wavy line image today (bottom left corner).
On my thumb and middle finger I used my smallest dotting tool to dot the circle logo over the white base. On my index finger and pinky I started with a white base, stamped the wavy lines with Blue Cara Ciao and added a french tip as well. My ring finger started out with Blue Cara Ciao with white stamping. I hoped it would have made a bigger difference.
I like my dotted/stippled nails best, I love the dynamics of the tiny dots. You will see more MoYou London stamping... I used another plate for the 33DC Day 22 manicure that you'll see on Monday!
What a lovely nail art! I like the dots as well :-)
