Some random Lucky 13 Lacquer swatches

Hi all!

I was browsing through my vault and found a couple of swatch photos I haven't posted yet, these are all Lucky 13 Lacquers.

First off is Accio Lacquer. A polish created together with Accio Lacquer blogger Misha who is sadly not actively blogging anymore. She was one of my favourite bloggers though. Anyway, this is two coats and Elemental Ward top coat you see here.

Accio Lacquer is a lovely taupe with gold and red micro flakes.

Next is Pi-Curious, I can't remember if this was 2 or 3 coats though, I'm sorry. Also including Elemental Ward top coat.

Pi-Curious is a purple jelly with flakes and blue and magenta micro glitters.

The last swatch is for If Convenient, Come All the Same. This is two coats and Elemental Ward top coat.

If Convenient is a purple jelly with an assortment of glitters, including large circle glitters. I just love the depth.

I hope you like this odd collection of swatches!

Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: A New Beginning - Radial gradient

Hi all!

Today I've got another new thing for you. New for me that is, because I've never done a radial gradient before. And I covered it with stamping using a new stamping plate as well *winks*.

Polishes:
  • Barry M - Gelly - GNP 6 Prickly Pear
  • Barry M - Gelly - GNP 5 Blueberry
  • Barry M - Gelly - GNP 12 Green Berry
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

The new stamping plate is BP-L052 from Born Pretty Store (item 36310). It has all these mandala type designs.

Base: Prickly Pear. I sponged on the radial gradient with a cosmetic sponge. These polishes were not the best pick for a gradient because they aren't true cremes and not as opaque. But I got there in the end. I stamped different mandala images on top with Dark Matter. Elemental Ward to seal it all in.

Even though my radial gradient is not that well centered, I did like this mani. Those mandala stamping images are great for making decals with as well.

Born Pretty Store kindly gave me a discount code to share with you all! If you use code BBL91 you get 10% off your purchase! You can find their nail art products here! And they offer worldwide free shipping!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Blue Floral

Hi all!

For today's Blue Floral I actually checked my mani archives first and found this neglected one. I wore this mani way back in August 2015 and did not make it to the blog until today. I used one of my favourite L13L polishes: Softening the Bad Things. It's one of the few polishes with gold that I love. I'm just not into gold.

Polishes:
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Softening the Bad Things
  • Essence - 22 i ♥ my blue jeans
  • Essence - 157 my fortune cookie
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I also used Bundle Monster's BM-616 stamping plate.

Base: 2 coats of Softening the Bad Things. I stamped using i ♥ my blue jeans and then added the gold inside the stamping. Topped with Elemental Ward.

I actually enjoyed digging this mani from the vaults, do you?

Love, Brethil

Nail Challenge Collaborative presents: A New Beginning - Green Drip Marble

Hi all!

This month's theme is A New Beginning. You'll see lots of different interpretatons of this theme this month from everyone. For me today it means a new nail art technique: drip marble. One of the queens of normal water marbles is Colette from My Simple Little Pleasures. Quite a while ago she created the drip marble. A marbleing technique without using water! You can see her original tutorial here! It was one of those things I still wanted to try. And I did recently! I absolutely love it.

Polishes:
  • Catrice - 10 I'm Not A Greenager
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Stone of Space
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Pretty Like Poison
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

I started by creating drip marble decals on a yoghurt lid just like in Colette's tutorial. I let them dry for about 5 hours or so before I used them. They were still very flexible and they just stuck onto my base coat without any hassle. I sealed them in with Elemental Ward.

No nail is the same, which is part of the charm. Also fun fact: Stone of Space (the green glitter) is glow in the dark.

I really enjoy this new technique! Ordinary water marbles are usually a big fail, I just can't get them to work. This however was easy! Have you tried this technique before? Do you like it?

Love, Brethil.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Black and white Valentines

Hi all!

Today I've got the first (and most likely the only) Valentines mani for you. I don't celebrate it myself, too much of a commercial thing for my taste. So this mani is Valentines muted down.

Polishes:
  • Polish My Life - Stripped
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Dark Matter
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Elemental Ward

Base: either 1 coat of Dark Matter or 2 coats of Stripped. Then I dotted away with a small dotting tool. One dot on each nail got turned into a heart using the dotting tool and a nail art brush. Sealed it all in with Elemental Ward.

Tiny hearts are kinda cute...

I'm really enjoying this mani, what do you think?
