Hi all!
During the month of July the Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux (OMD2) Nail Art Challenge is hosted by Brijit from Brijits Digits, Jacqui from Craftynail, Jemma from Eeeek! Nail Polish! and Lindsay from Nail That Accent!. There are awesome prizes to be won just for joining up, no judging or voting involved! For more information how to enter read this page.
Today's prompt is holographic. I own quite a few holos, most from I Love Nail Polish and I love them all. Today I will be showing three blues that are on the "Retiring Soon" list. Did you know you can use the code ILNP30 to get 30% off these discontinued polishes until tomorrow July 8th at 9pm Pacific (which is in fact Wednesday morning 6am for us EU types)? Gone = Gone, so don't think too long if you still want one of those polishes!
Today's blues:
- I Love Nail Polish - You're My Boy Blue *swatch here*
- I Love Nail Polish - Admire Me
- I Love Nail Polish - Indie Go
And because I was feeling like doing a mani like this one, I added stamping with Pueen plate 69.
I started with a base of 2 coats You're My Boy Blue and then sponged on a gradient using the other two polishes. When it dried I added a layer of HK Girl top coat before I started to stamp with Indie Go and some random images from PUEEN 69. I ended with another coat of HK Girl top coat to get it shiny again (holos turn dull if used for stamping).
And because I could not end this post without one photograph taken in direct light there's one below. The holo is slightly dulled from the gradient compared to if you wear each of these polishes on their own.
This is one of those mani's that make me happy and I want to wear for days... which is a bit difficult with this challenge and a new mani a day... eeeeeppp!
More holo goodness in the Inlinkz below!
Wat een holo! Mooie en redelijk subtiele nail art. :)
