Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux - Your Signature Style & GOT & FingerFood's Theme Buffet

Hi all!

During the month of July the Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux (OMD2) Nail Art Challenge is hosted by Brijit from Brijits Digits, Jacqui from Craftynail, Jemma from Eeeek! Nail Polish! and Lindsay from Nail That Accent!. There are awesome prizes to be won just for joining up, no judging or voting involved! For more information how to enter read this page.

Today is the 31st... which means the very last post for OMD2... I made it! Kudos to the bloggers who always post daily... I barely kept up this month. I'm also taking a short break after this post as I'll be leaving for Castlefest tonight! I'll be back next week with my usual posting schedule (4x a week, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sun). Back to today's mani, the prompt is "your signature style". I don't think I have one. So I went with my stitched border design in a triple combination post. I'm also combining it with this week's FingerFood's Theme Buffet prompt (rainbow) and Golden Oldie Thursday (glitter topper). Besides white and black all the polishes I used are over a year old, the glitter topper being years old (can't remember how long I've had it).

Rainbow!
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
  • W7 - 28 Black
  • Catrice - LE Glamazona - C03 I'm A Survivor
  • Catrice - 04 Orange-Utan
  • Catrice - LE Glamazona - C04 Lime Heart Is Beating Like A Jungle Drum
  • Catrice - 10 I'm Not A Greenager
  • Catrice - 400 Blue Cara Ciao
  • Catrice - LE Glamazona - C02 I Got The Flower!
  • Miss Helen - unknown

I started with a black base and added the white in 2 coats. I did stitches in rainbow colours, so subtle rainbow. I used the Miss Helen holo glitter topper on my thumb, middle and ring fingers. It's not in a completely clear base (hence why I justified buying CG Fairy Dust) changing the white into a murky undefined colour.

With and without the glitter topper, I prefer the nails without it to be honest.

I'll see you again next week!

Do check the others in the different Inlinkz collections!

Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux - Fashion Inspired

For today's mani I did a quick google search and stumbled upon this dress by Elie Saab. Isn't it gorgeous?

Quite the row of polishes:
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
  • NYC - 003 Prey of Grey
  • W7 - 28 Black
  • China Glaze - 1148 Tart-y For The Party
  • China Glaze - 1292 Petal To The Metal
  • Maybelline - Bleached Neons - 242 Coral Heat
  • Maybelline - Bleached Neons - 244 Chic Chartreuse

In Elie Saab's dress there is a gradient from black to white hence my base is a black to grey to white gradient that I sponged on. Before I continued I sealed it in with top coat. For the colour, I added brush strokes with the different coloured polishes and diluted them a bit with some nail polish remover. I ended with G&G HK Girl top coat.

I really like how this turned out, even if it's not as blended as the dress itself.

More down here for all you fashionistas!

Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux - National Pride

Today's prompt, National Pride, is not up my alley at all. I'm Dutch in case you didn't know yet. I have no desires to flaunt with my nationality much and wasn't that inspired by it. I'm too down to earth for all that. So what do you do when you have no clue what to do? A skittlette! I used our flag's colours (which is red, white and blue like several other nations *winks*) and orange, because that is the national colour really. Our royals are from the house of Orange and orange is the colour our sports teams use.

Today's polishes:
  • Catrice - 04 Orange-Utan
  • Catrice - LE Glamazona - C03 I'm A Survivor
  • Catrice - 400 Blue Cara Ciao
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White

For all my nails I used 3 coats of Orange-Utan as my base. I did a waterfall (original idea by The Nailasaurus) on my thumb and little finger. Some random dotting on my index finger and leopard print on the middle and ring finger.

Personally I like the waterfall nails best.

Tomorrow I have a mani for you I personally like a lot better *winks*. And I'm skipping Tri Polish Tuesday... I'll join again next week!

Curious what others did with this prompt? Check them down here!

Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux - Bridal

Today we go bridal themed... so I think white and subtle, because not everyone wants their nails to steal the show at the wedding. That honour is usually for the hair and dress... And... I even managed to write this post on time! Yay!

Only two polishes today:
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
  • Koh - unknown (no label)

I also used two PUEEN stamping plates, plate 63 and 68.

I started out with a gradient base, white at the tips, nude near the cuticles. I stamped with Snow Me White and PUEEN 63 on all of my nails. I also stamped with the nude and PUEEN 68 on top of that, but it is hardly visible. Sealed it all in with G&G HK Girl top coat.

Also, if there's anyone who would know which Koh polish this could be, let me know... since this was a gift there was no label on the lid (with the name). Koh's website lists several nudish/sand coloured polishes, so it is not helpful at all. Could be from an earlier collection as well. Could be Koh Pale Beige perhaps?

A very subtle mani for a bride. Can you believe I did not even wear nail polish at all at my own wedding (7 years ago)?

More bridal nails below, in case you need some inspiration *winks*!

Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux - Nautical

For today's nautical theme I went with a few cheesy symbols and stripes. Let's take a look at today's polishes!

From left to right all neat in a row:
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
  • China Glaze - 1299 At Vase Value
  • Barry M - Gelly - GNP10 Lychee
  • NYC - 041 Live Hard
  • NYC - 208 Pier 17

I started with a saran wrap base of Snow Me White, Lychee and At Vase Value to give it a more antique look. I freehanded some stripes on my index and little finger with a striping brush. I went with an anchor and a buoy on my middle and ring finger.

I painted a lighthouse on my thumb, I like how that one turned out!

Time for me to get some sleep... see you tomorrow!

Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux - Outdoors

I know I'm a day late... things came up and I have a tendency to not do mani's in order... which sometimes leads to not having a post done on time, so today you'll get two posts from me! When I think outdoors I think of plants. Today I've got a gorgeous Leaf and Vine design I absolutely borrowed from the amazing ChristabellNails! You definitely need to check out her Youtube channel, tons of nail art videos with gorgeous designs!

We have green today:
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White
  • OPI - NL N13 Did It On 'Em
  • OPI - NL908 Front Lawn

I got these two OPI's at Big Bazar for the amazing deal of 3 for €10. Not that they had a lot of choice (mostly Nicole by OPI). The labels are different, and Front Lawn has a sticker on the cap as you can see. Front Lawn is a mystery OPI, probably a dupe of a polish in another collection, there are several out there, read here for more info.

On my index finger I am wearing 3 coats of Did It On 'Em, with two there was still a visible nail line. I also did 3 coats of Front Lawn on my little finger, but two would have been enough. Huge warning for Front Lawn though, it is a stainer! On my middle and ring finger I have 2 coats of Snow Me White as a base. With a small nail art brush I added the vine and leaves like in ChristabellNails tutorial video. I topped everything with G&G HK Girl top coat as always.

I'm very happy with the results, simple yet cute! Have you done any tutorial by ChristabellNails?

Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux - Roses

For today you'll see roses... for reasons only Whovians understand I thought of combining the 50th anniversary Doctor Who polish Lucky 13 Lacquer made with roses. Because we love Rose and her brief return in that episode even if she wasn't actually Rose to make it more complicated. This polish was limited edition, but perhaps it will return in the future for a limited time again, who knows? I bought it earlier this year on it's first return after the initial release.

Today's pretties:
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - No More Gallifrey Falls
  • Catrice - 23 The Monkey Gets Funky
  • Catrice - 22 Bricky Mouse
  • Sinful Colors - 101 Snow Me White

I really wanted to wear this polish since I bought it, but wearing a thermal is just not the same with nubs. My nails have grown out nicely now, so I thought it would be a good idea to wear it...

I am wearing 3 coats of No More Gallifrey Falls, but 2 would have been fine as well. There is still some visible nail line in the warm state as you can see. I added some roses with the Catrice polishes (partly mixed with white). The reason I chose these polishes is because No More Gallifrey Falls has tiny flecks of pink (and gold) that matches them.

Unfortunately the weather lately has been very warm, so I did not see the cold state on my nails at all... and photographing them by dunking them in my cold beer (hey, I am a Dwarf deep inside, plus it was home brewed by my Dwarven hubby) was tricky. So the photo up there was after a dunk... cold state disappeared very fast. Bottom two photos are taken in the morning after holding my hands in front of the a/c unit for a while (we dislike this hot weather so much we finally bought a portable one to cool the room we are in).

I'll revisit this polish in autumn when the new Doctor Who season has started (it starts August 23rd if you didn't know yet) and the weather has cooled down.

More roses down here!
