Crush on Nessie

Hi all!

Today we have a stamping over a gradient mani (I love them), yet slightly different. I have used textured polishes! I actually wore this mani for my best friend's birthday a week ago, but they're not really birthday themed.

The polishes. From left to right:
  • KIKO - Sugar Mat - 644 Sea Blue
  • Seventeen - Cameo Crush
  • Essence - Stampy polish black

And yet another MoYou London Fairytale Collection plate, this time plate 02. This plate has a few mythical creatures like a pegasus, unicorn, mermaids... and Nessie! Well, I think it's Nessie anyway *winks*.

I did a gradient with Sea Blue and Cameo Crush the same way you can do a normal gradient. I did start out with one coat of a colour first, then I dabbed with a sponge to add the gradient and make it all more opaque. On my thumb and ring finger I have a base of Sea Blue and Cameo Crush at the tips, while my other nails have it the other way around. It's a subtle difference, but I like it. On my right hand I did the opposite.

I first stamped with the wiggly lines from the top right corner of the plate. They end in a kind of fan, but that part did not want to transfer to my stamper at all. Because I felt the mani was missing something I added Nessie. And I am glad I did! Nessie is one of those images you have to spread across several nails because of the size. But it looks really nice that way. Only not so nice part is cleaning up... glitter from Cameo Crush got everywhere.

Have you tried a gradient with textured polishes or have you stamped on top of a textured polish? Let me know!

  1. These are really cool and the colors you used in the gradient are beautiful! I still haven't jumped on the textured polish train yet, I might have to soon though haha (:

    1. I love textured polishes. You should try it! I love the shimmers better than the creme type ones even if that glitter gets everywhere!
