FingerFood's Theme Buffet - Shapes/Geometric

This week's theme is Shapes/Geometric. I've wanted to recreate this mani by Laura from Polish All the Nails since I first saw it. She is the queen of glitter placement, she does amazing manis! Last week I got some more diamond shaped glitter, so it was time to try this myself! Be prepared for sparklies!

I started with a base of Essence - Superheroes LE named 04 Super, Man! I got a few of the Superheroes Limited Edition polishes and jars of loose glitter from my coworkers as a birthday present. Super, Man! is a so-called holo effect polish. It is not holographic, it is basically a silver polish that is loaded with holographic microglitter. It is very sparkly and even though it's not holographic, I still love it. I am wearing two coats in the picture below (indirect light). It does dry slightly gritty because of the glitter, so you need a top coat to smooth it out.

Next I started placing the diamond shaped glitter. I already owned holographic ones that I used for my snake that you can see here. The Superheroes LE has 3 loose glitter mixes, a jar of small holographic silver hexes, a jar of magenta diamond glitters, and a jar containing a mix of mostly blue glitter. That mix jar has hexes, bars and diamond shaped glitters. I actually fished out the diamond shaped ones to be able to do this mani. But you already knew I was a bit nutty *winks*.

Placing the glitter was not that easy, but it was fun nonetheless. I placed them on wet top coat and topcoat the finished design twice to seal the glitters in. Can you tell which nail I did first? Hint: check the alignment of the coloured sides of the squares.
