Born Pretty Store review & nail art: nail studs

*press sample*

Hi all!

Today I've got something different for you. I was contacted by Born Pretty Store to review some of their nail art products. I've never had any company contact me to review for them before, so I was giddy with excitement. They sent me a few products to review, today you'll see the first mani I did with one of them! For your info, Born Pretty Store shipped from Singapore (to me in The Netherlands), they told me it would take 3-5 weeks before it would arrive. My review products arrived in 3,5 weeks, so right within estimation.

The polishes and studs:
  • W7 - 28 Black
  • Catrice - 42 Nickel Minaj
  • Essence - LE Superheroes - 05 Wonder Wow! Man!
  • Born Pretty Store - #12410 Mixed stud wheel * provided for review

One of the items I chose to review is #12410, it's a wheel with several different studs in both silver and gold colour. There are leaf designs, droplets, stars, hearts and textured squares and circles. I really like these types of wheels, because they offer a lot of choice in one (and if you're careful you can reuse the studs). If you want some different types of studs to try out, this wheel would be a good choice.

Because my hands were itching to use those textured studs, I decided to use both silver and gold squares in combination with simple plaid accent nails. My base is two coats of black. On my accent nails I added silver and gold stripes to form the plaid with my striping brush. The gold polish I have is slightly less yellow than the studs, but I don't think it clashes. On the studded nails I added a coat of top coat and used tweezers to place the square studs on the wet top coat. I didn't add anything on top, because I barely wear any design long term these days. You could also attach them with nail glue to make them last longer.

A close up of my plaid design... my silver stripes are veering towards the middle a bit... oops.

I really like these studs, now you know I like studs, but hate it when stuff sticks out from my nails (hence why big charms are not my thing). The size of these squares is not too big, so they don't stick out much at all. I love the texture they have, it just gives more "oomph" than smooth studs do.

Born Pretty Store kindly gave me a discount code to share with you all! If you use code BBL91 you get 10% off your purchase! You can find their nail art products here! And they offer worldwide free shipping!

If you'd like to see some of the other studs in this wheel, let me know in the comments!

Love, Brethil
