Meriadoc's Fight

Hi all!

This past weekend was very interesting. Some of you are probably aware of the "Share the love" that has been flying through Facebook, I think it was started by NailNation 3000, but it soon spread out. I sat amazed how my Facebook likes went up from a mere 16 to it's current 675 676. Thank you all! I also joined the lovely Lucky 13 Lacqueristas, which is a Facebook group for fans of Lucky 13 Lacquer. If you're a fan as well, join us here!

Anyways, it was high time I used my Lucky 13 Lacquer's But I Want to Fight! It's part of The Fellowship Collection that you can drool at here and it is inspired by Meriadoc Brandybuck, or just Merry. I am going to spam you with pictures, be warned! First the polish itself.

As usual, the cute sticker on the bottle cap (I love this, makes it so easy to spot inside my Helmer), and below a bottle shot. Yes, another cat hair, I swear they sneakily crawl into the frame when I'm not looking! But I Want to Fight! has a purple crelly base with green holo hex glitters in several sizes. You'll see they're not that huge on the nail.

Swatches show 2 coats plus top coat (Glisten&Glow's HK Girl top coat), any imperfections are from my lack of skill in application. I blame being tired *nods*. I just love this shade of purple, it is simply delicious! And sparkly glitter!

Even though this polish is absolutely gorgeous on it's own, I added a bit of me to it. Not too much, because indie polishes are so gorgeous without anything added to it, I always prefer to leave a few nails like they are.

Polishes I used:

I also used some small nail art brushes. On my ring finger I painted Merry's helmet, after all he did fight in the battle of the Pelennor Fields. I know his helmet is not silver-coloured, but it had to match my thumb. Hey, I did at some gold decorations, like the actual helmet Merry wore (well, sort of).

But the masterpiece is my Leaf of Lórien, I am very pleased how well this turned out. Of course I do have my own leaf for comparison (that did help), but still it is a mini canvas. Mind you my right thumb did not turn out as well (but not that bad either). I used King Of Greens for the leaf itself and the silver stamping polish and a very small nail art brush for the silver details.

So, tell me what you think! Do you like nail art combined with indies? Does this mani embody the brave hobbit Merry?
