The Desolation of Smaug

Hi all!

As a proper Dwarf I did go to see The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug a while ago. What can I say... it is awesome! If you have not seen it yet, don't wait too long! Because... handsome Dwarves!

The Key to Erebor

Right, if you can manage to look away from Thorin, let's look at what I wore on my nails when I went to the cinema!

The polishes I used, who could I wear anything else... From left to right:
  • Lucky 13 Lacquer - Beyond Darkness, Beyond Desolation
  • Essence - Stampy polish black
  • Mundo de Uñas - 32

Let's take a good look at Lucky 13 Lacquer's Beyond Darkness, Beyond Desolation first.

First of all, the jelly base in my bottle seems to be more burnt orange than blood red like Accio Lacquer's swatches. This is not a trick of my camera, the photos are colour accurate when it concerns my bottle. It is lovely either way, though I might prefer the blood red base. I am wearing 3 coats, no coloured undies (just a clear base coat) and top coat. Application was lovely and I do like the red and gold holo glitters, yes, I am liking gold! Tiny amounts!

Of course, I did not leave it like this... I used my MoYou London Fairytale Collection plate 03... I mean, it has a dragon and fire... how could I not?

I made a decal for the dragon's head, because I had to mirror it for my left thumb. My right thumb got a stamp straight from the plate. For the decal I stamped the image with my black stamping polish onto a stamper and let it dry. Next I added a coat of top coat and let that dry as well. I removed the decal with tweezers and then just turned it around to get the mirror image *winks*. For more info on stamping decals, check this post I did a few months ago, it has several tutorial links. Of course my dragon is breathing fire, which I stamped with the red stamping polish onto my ring finger and pinky. Everything was topped with HK Girl top coat, as always.

I loved this mani, dragons, fire and a gorgeous L13L polish! I must go to the cinema again soon for a second time! Let's end with Thorin at his finest, as a determined warrior:
