FingerFood's Theme Buffet - Marbling

Hi all!

This week's prompt is marbling, dry or water, whichever you prefer. I did a dry marble this time! And yes, that is the same accent nail again.

Today's polishes:
  • L.A. Girl - 3D Effects - GNL307 Sparkle Ruby
  • NYC - 221 Spring Street
  • NYC - 294 Lexington Yellow
  • HEMA - Top Coat Matt

I created dry marbled decals by painting on a plastic bag, adding drops of polish, swirling it around with a toothpick. When it was dry I cut it out to stick to my nail. I just made these too thick (did a yellow base first), so these decals were a bit difficult to handle. Next time I'll try to make the layer thinner. My pinky and index fingernails were completely covered in the decals, whereas on the other nails I did a base of Sparkle Ruby and added a piece of the decal to my wet nails. I did have to use a few coats of top coat to smooth it all out and ended with a matte top coat.

Besides the thickness of my decals, I do like the look of this marble! Have you tried dry marbling?

More marbles down here!
