Tri Polish Tuesdays - May - Floral & Dots

Hi all!

Another Tri Polish Tuesday with the odd colour combo of purple, red and green... but I did use them all again, yay! I went for a skittle-esque floral mani this week.

From left to right:
  • NYC - 257 Lavender Cupcake
  • Miss Helen - 187
  • Catrice - 17 Caught On The Red Carpet
  • Catrice - LE Hip Trip - C02 Green Days
  • W7 - 28 Black
  • Essence - Sparkle Sand Effect - 183 Be my lucky star

I used two coats of Lavender Cupcake on all nails except my thumb, such a lovely polish. I did a glittery gradient with Be my lucky star on my index nail and simple dots with the darker purple on my pinky. Using a small nail art brush I freehanded some flowers on my middle and ring finger. I did mix Lavender Cupcake and the darker purple to make the petals look more interesting. The stamens were done with the red polish, Caught On The Red Carpet is not very opaque, hence why it does not show up as a true red over the base. I did a simple swatch post of this polish in my first month of blogging, if you can look past my noobness it is here. For the sepals I used Green Days, which is probably one of my most used green polishes.

Essence's silver textured polish, Be my lucky star, as I wore it on my thumb nail. This is 3 coats... and you can still see some visible nail line. It is lovely with the holo glitters, but I would wear it over a base silver next time. This took forever to dry... and 3 coats takes longer than 1 over a base colour. In comparison, my P2 and Kiko textured polishes dry a lot quicker.

Each time I do a skittle(tte) mani I tell myself to do them more often... I really like the mix and match!
